Members are a vital part of the The Little Shakespeare Company (LSC). We invite any child between the ages of 8 to 18 to join the company and take advantage of the drama classes, summer camps and workshops that the company will be running. In addition, members have the opportunity to be in the cast when we put on shows or performances.
Please note that an audition will be required to become a member of LSC. This is to allow the Company to assess whether members are ready to join LSC and to take part in the productions or whether the auditionee requires extra support before joining LSC.
Membership of LSC for 2017 costs just £20 per person per annum and for this, members will receive:
regular updates on classes/workshops/shows (via email, newsletter, Facebook and/or Twitter);
entry into a lottery for free tickets to LSC productions;
“stars” (or other badges) for each performance undertaken.
Further, at additional, discounted cost, members will gain:
access to one-to-one tuition or mentoring;
access to external audition preparation;
access to masterclasses;
access to Van Rensburg Artist Management agency, with the opportunity to audition for external roles.
Lessons for the first part of the year (up to June) will be with the aim of producing Macbeth at the
Edinburgh Fringe during 07-12 August 2017. Lessons will ensure that members will receive the necessary
background into the script of the play, character-development and movement on stage.
The cost of the lessons will be £7/hour and each block should be paid in advance to the Treasurer.
Each lesson/rehearsal will be on Sunday afternoons between 3-5 pm at the Fisherrow Community Centre, South Street, Fisherrow, Musselburgh, EH21 6AT.
Auditions for roles in the Fringe production will be held on the final Sunday of Block 2 (26th March 2017).
The Summer Camp will be used to finalise the script and character roles for the Fringe production
and will be held during 31/07/2017 to 06/08/2017 at
Stoneyhill Community Centre.
The total cost of the Summer Camp and the Fringe Show will be £300.
Every year Little Shakespeare Company put on a panto. This year we will be putting on PANTO!, a fun, Shakespearean take on the genre.
We may be biased, but we reckon our Drama classes and Workshops are just about the best fun you can have while learning classic tales written by one of the most creative authors and playwrights ever to have lived!
